Maintenance Technician

Our Client located in Portland, CT is seeking a skilled and dedicated Maintenance Technician to join their team.

Shift: Monday – Friday, 6:30 AM – 3:00 PM
Pay Rate: $25 – $30 per hour

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and emergency maintenance and repairs on production machinery to ensure optimal operation.
• Install, set up, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical components.
• Conduct welding repairs (including stick welding) as needed.
• Diagnose mechanical issues and replace or repair parts efficiently.
• Perform scheduled maintenance and prepare equipment for production runs.
• Collaborate with electricians and team members on complex repairs and projects.
• Read and interpret manuals, work orders, and maintenance instructions.
• Use hand and power tools, meters, and material-handling equipment safely.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and follow safety regulations while keeping work areas clean.
• Respond to maintenance needs promptly and professionally

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of industrial maintenance experience.
• Strong mechanical and electrical knowledge, including 480V 3-phase systems and machine controls.
• Experience with hydraulic, steam, and compressed air systems.
• Familiarity with PLCs, VFDs, relays, and manufacturing equipment.
• Welding and fabrication skills; comfortable using maintenance tools.
• Ability to troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical issues.
• Knowledge of safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO).
• Strong communication skills and ability to work independently or in a team.
• Flexibility to multitask, work overtime, and adapt to changing priorities.
• Forklift experience preferred.
