Maintenance Mechanic

Our client in Waterbury CT is looking for a Junior Maintenance Mechanic in Waterbury, CT.

Pay: $25.00 – $30.00 per hour

Essential Functions:

• Perform regular and preventative maintenance on machines, equipment and facility.
• Assist in maintaining a clean and orderly facility
• Identify potential issues and report to manager to schedule for repair
• Map out and compile materials list for upcoming projects
• Perform project repairs and installation of large equipment
• Ability to safely operate overhead crane
• Maintain inventory of critical equipment parts
• Monthly safety inspections throughout the facility
• Complete other assignments given by manager

Physical Requirements:

• Use a variety of hand and power tools in performing duties.
• Needs to use hands and feet to be able to put on Personal Protection Equipment including goggles, boots and gloves.
• Needs to be able to lift at least 50 lbs.
• Regularly required to be on feet 80-90% of time. This includes walking and crouching.
• Occasionally uses hand tools requiring good hand-and-eye coordination.

Skills and Experience:

• 2-5 Years of experience in similar manufacturing setting
• Light to medium electrical and plumbing experience required
• Strong mechanical and math aptitudes
• Forklift Certification preferred but not required
• Able to read Blueprints, preferred but not required
• Able to use measuring equipment, i.e. calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, etc…
• Organizational and housekeeping skills
