At JMR Staffing, we are currently looking for a highly motivated and dynamic Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to play a key role in supporting the health and well-being of individuals with Developmental and Intellectual Disabilities. You will help monitor health status and deliver appropriate treatments, ensuring the highest quality of life for individuals in terms of their physical, emotional, and mental health.
Shift: All 3 shifts available, with 20-40 hours
Pay: $30-40/hr
Responsibilities:
- Assist and guide individuals in activities of daily living, such as personal hygiene, meal preparation, feeding, housekeeping, recreational activities, behavior management, medication administration, and other activities to maintain their well-being.
- Address residents’ health needs by becoming familiar with and staying updated on their health conditions.
- Maintain resident health by contacting a physician in medical emergencies, documenting incidents, and keeping the Manager, Program Supervisor, and Group Home Nurse informed.
- Facilitate care by recording doctors’ orders on medication Kardex, medication cards, nursing notes, and in shift-to-shift communication books, ensuring awareness and access to important health information.
- Ensure continuity of care and programming by communicating all medical concerns to the incoming shift, both verbally and in writing, under “Nursing Notes” for follow-up and awareness.
- Administer medications and injections as prescribed by physicians.
- Provide transportation for individuals when needed.
- Monitor patient vital signs and report any significant changes to the healthcare team
Requirements:
- Valid Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in the state of practice.
- Valid Driver’s License
- Strong knowledge of anatomy and physiology relevant to nursing practices.
